Fascinated with all the different colours of her Derwent Watercolour pencils, as a child her favourite song was True Colors by Cyndi Lauper. At 17 she completed a Certificate in Personal Grooming at June Dally-Watkins School of Etiquette and Deportment, where she also started to learn about seasonal colour analysis. At 23 she graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Marketing and Organisational Psychology). Finding the corporate world wasn’t for her, she followed her love of fashion to Marie Claire and Instyle magazines, and interned in the fashion departments for a period of time. Realising her true passion was all things colour, in 2017 she decided to study at True Colour International, the TCI method of 12 Tone Colour Analysis, and in 2021 Colour by Katrina was born. From there she delved into the world that is retail, working for a well known retailer for several years whilst simultaneously obtaining certification as a Personal Colour Analyst at True Colour International (2024). Two thousand and twenty six brings about a fresh new direction for Colour by Katrina, offering a full array of services including colour analysis, personal shopping & wardrobe editing, as well as colour consulting on special events (e.g. weddings).
